Sunday night
Sitting here in my room and I try
To write a new tune
The melody seems quite good to me
But the words won't fit at all

The words I've written
Are wasted and told too often so I
I won't use them no more
I think that they have lied enough
And I will not lie again

That's enough
I lay down my pen and I play
All my old songs again
While I'm playing they seem to be
As tired and wasted as me
